During the summer Mike's Garden showcases an impressive display of fruit producing shrubs, canes and perennials that look great; feeding our family, friends, neighbours, supporters and wildlife. Because of proper garden culture and care, we've enjoyed a steady increase in the amount of fruit available for harvest every season. This year is certainly no exception! We've noticed a substantial increase in native pollinators who we are more than happy to accommodate. One thing our garden is missing this year is vegetables. We've had to focus our energy and time on raising Aspen (who's now running more than walking) and getting the new greenhouse built and ready for our grand opening this fall. What an amazing time in our lives!
Pick-Your-Own Berries
Available by appointment only, for a limited time and while supplies last. We welcome the opportunity to get to know you better by spending quality time together picking berries. Varieties include: red, purple, and golden raspberries; red currants; sour cherries; white and red alpine strawberries; garden strawberries; saskatoon berries.
Blackberries and concord grapes will be available at a later date.
Good News: The Greenhouse is Almost Complete!
The greenhouse structure is now completely covered with polycarbonate, automatic roof vents and all! Now it's time to begin working on the interior, making a state-of-the-art aquaponic greenhouse where we can grow, teach, share, and offer "a hand up, instead of just a hand-out."
